Rough draft ventures academy8/14/2023 Tomorrow is our last day of sales for snacks and the pre-show at our school. Curtis' class and Joshua from Ms Davis' class are working with Lisa to polish their movies. She has extensive work producing in the TV world and she has came to offer some suggestions to our students and teachers. Lisa Saurez visited Albion Heights JMS today to help with the editing and fine tuning of our movies. Saran and Karallyn, the Grade 7 Executive, MCs for the Pre Show. We held a pre-show for the students of Albion Heights to watch our movies at a reduced rate of $1. Remember DVD's can still be purchased from the school and it goes towards our charities. Thank you for all your hard work and PATIENCE." - K.M. hilarious! The children did such a good job. It was a big success! We sold over 200 tickets, lots of concessions, and also raffle tickets. Hosting the Film Festival at West Humber Collegiate Institute. Etobicoke Guardian came to take some pictures and spoke to some students. Families and guests were amazed and surprised with all 5 films that were shown and the amount of hardwork that was displayed. Many students and families came to the event. Thanks to all the students, teachers, family, staff, and friends for making this happen! The students of Albion Heights JMS raised almost $2000 from the Film Festival! Each of our charities, World Wildlife Fund and StopGap, will receive a cheque for $925. Here's another picture of Luke and Keira demonstrating how their wheelchair accessible van works: This money will go towards building ramps to make places such as plazas and shops to be more wheelchair accessible. And the CEO, Ishita, and VP, Gaviyaa presented the cheque to Luke on behave of the Albion Heights Business Team for $925. Ms Bonilla provided them with a copy of her movie. For example, one of the questions was how do you eat in a wheelchair. StopGap was very appreciative of all the hard work that the students did. Luke answered a lot of questions that the students had about a person in a wheelchair. Luke and Keira from StopGap came to pick up the donation money that we raised from our Film Festival.
